Dual Enrollment

What is Dual Enrollment?

The Dual Enrollment program also known as the High School Partnership (HSP) is a partnership between the Fontana Unified School District and Chaffey College that allows high school students to concurrently enroll in college-level courses while pursuing their high school diploma.  By participating in this program, Jurupa Hills High School students will have the opportunity to take independent study college-level courses and, if successful, earn transferable credits all before graduating high school and additional high school credits. Students may take up to three courses each semester (Fall, Spring, & Summer) excluding first time participating students who may only take one course.  However, it should be noted that it is not recommended that students max out on units each semester due to the difficulty of the courses.

Minimum Requirements

  • No D's or F's in current gradebook, or the previous semester coursework.
  • Students must be passing all classes with C’s or better.

 Things to Consider

  • Course grades appear on your college transcript.
  • Chaffey transcript must be submitted to all future institutions.
  • D’s or F’s will always remain on the college transcript, even if courses are remediated.
  • D’s or F's remain on college transcripts even if the courses are retaken.
  • Courses finished with a passing grade cannot be retaken for a higher GPA.
  • Grades placed on the high school transcript can impact the high school GPA.
  • Dual Enrollment is not mandatory for college admissions, and low grades could impact graduate school applications in the future.
